I just see this module on spark fun. The concept is replace a Xbee network with wifi solution.I have many equipment using Xbee network and I want to take control by smartphone. So, option is Bluetooth or wifi. But Bluetooth is not a wise choose for robot/autonomous. Many limitation to control, range and need more equipment to connect. So, WiFly is my choice. Just replace with old Xbee module and you can connect from the entires world.

This WiFly can operate on 3 modes. Client mode, Ad-hoc mode and standalone mode.
